EXHIBITIONS

Each year, The Material Way is pleased to present an exhibition showcasing works developed by their students from the Local Bio-based Materials program. Blurring the boundaries between art, design, and craft, the exhibition places materials firmly at the center of the creative process.

The exhibited works draw from a wide range of sources and materials — from natural fibers and soil to food waste — creating a compelling diversity of stories throughout the space. Each piece results from in-depth exploration by the program’s artists and designers. Some adopt a hands-on, technical approach to working with bio-based matter, while others focus on storytelling, questioning the cultural and contextual roles these materials play in different parts of the world.
